A recurring fault across the Volkswagen Group range is code B2000, stored by the vehicle's SOS / eCall emergency-call control unit. In many cases the module hasn't failed outright — a degraded backup cell or a fatigued internal component is enough to set the fault and disable the system. The standard dealer route is a full module replacement and a fresh coding session, at OEM parts pricing.
